Hi peoples, after your advice ive started on the dreadnought kit from stew mac, so far ive got the the side + neck and tail block glued up sweet and done the kerfed linings. Unfortunatly I ran out of clamps otherwise I would have put the back on but hopefully I will have that done 2moro.
Im really enjoying it thanks for all your advice and by the way the guitar making tradition and technology is a great book.
thanks
kurt.

There was a guy at the Healdsburg guitar festival who had a new guitar for sale at $20,000, made with one of a kind wood fished out of a swamp (forget his name). You're in the right place mate.
I am also building my first, but from a mostly Martin kit I won on Ebay from Blues creek guitars. It's definitely an adventure. I just about finished the finish. Now comes gluing the neck on.nickton38846.3989236111

Hey Kurt - in making guitars, adaptation will become a natural instinct to you. You'll find a way to make it fit

Reminds me of the Insurance story of the kid who put his jam sandwich in the video player and pressed play as he wanted to see what it looked like on the TV screen Dave White38846.3954513889

I just tried to upload but there was a problem. Here's another try:

I also had this on another post about blues creek, along with my dog. I don't know how to keep the images small like in your pictures. I learned how french polishing is an excruciating lesson in patience and tedium tolerance, but the results are addicting. Rottenstone rocks. (I used to think it might smell or something)... Goota go to work now.nickton38846.4062152778

Hi Kurt,
Most of the guys here use outside molds , but hey! what ever works !

Good to see another Kiwi here. Where are you in N.Z. ? I came from Dunedin , but have been living in N.S.W. for many years now.

Looking good Kurt.

Some of the more recent video players will play either NTSC or PAL formatted videos, I bought a good one last year for about $AU70, ask around you probably know someone who can record it onto dvd for you.

Yep. It was Laurie Williams. He said when he first started nothing was available to build with so he had to make everything.
